Urban Fiction Literature
Urban fiction is a literary genre set. This genre is also known as Street lit, which is defined by the culture and race of its characters as the urban setting. Urban fiction has usually a dark tone. Sex content, profanity and violence are usually explicit. Urban fiction in a genre which was and still a genre written by and for African Americans. This genre shares some common threads with survivalist and dystopian fiction. Survivalist is a group or movement, which they called themselves Survivalists. This movement often prepares for future possible disruptions. They anticipated prepared by stockpiling water and food, emergency medical training, prepare for self defense and self sufficiency. A dystopia is the idea of a society in a controlled and repressive state under the guidance of being Utopian.
In 1970 a man who was in jail by the name of Robert Beck started at that time to write urban fiction novels. The terminology that he used on his books was related to the lexicon of Black English. Black English also known as African American English its pronunciation is common to the English spoken in the southern part of the United States by non African American and African American.
During the 1985s the urban fiction had release its print, but it experienced a declined. However, after the prints declined, it simply moved from print to music as hip hop music genre had gotten popularity. The rapper Tupac Shakur was an author of urban fiction in lyrical form. The new wave of urban fiction occurred at the end of the 1990s. The demand for novels had increased.
